Simpson Shelter provides more than temporary sleeping quarters and a hot meal. It offers a variety of services, including finding permanent housing for previously homeless women. Since these women have been sleeping outside or in shelters, they have very few personal belongings or the means to set up a household. Simpson is looking for the following donations to help these women: toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner (including African-American hair care products), pots and pans, feminine hygiene supplies, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, dishes, silverware and utensils, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent. If you can make a donation (either new or gently used), please bring your donation marked "Simpson Shelter" to the church office. If you provide your name, address and phone number, we can provide a receipt for tax purposes.
To find out how you can volunteer to help with any of these projects or organizations, please contact the church office for more information.
