Youth Program

A note from the youth director...
The little tree outside of my new office is finally sprouting some leaves! I can see it through my window as I'm working, and especially on sunny days, it gives me such hope. Spring brings so much new life...so much promise for the future...and God is delivering once again with beautiful green leaves and grass! It's really quite amazing. Pretty soon there will be flowers of all colors, dandelion bouquets to pick, refreshing lakes to swim in, and days spent outside in the sun. Praise God! It's so exciting!
Spring makes me think of the promise of new life in the Bible. Second Corinthians says that if anyone is with Christ, they are a new creation. Jesus gives us the ability to start new each day! We may have screwed up in the past...we may have had a really bad day yesterday...but today is brand new! Go for a walk outside...breath in the springtime air...look at the little leaves on the trees...and know that God created you as a beautiful creation. And have hope because, as Chicken Little says in one of my favorite movies of all time, "Today is a new day!"

Springtime Blessings! Kristin Tranby, Director of Youth and Family Ministry

Upcoming Events:

Youth Bell Choir

The youth bell choir will be starting up again on May 4th at 9:30 a.m.! We will probably be in Parish Hall, unless there's something going on in there. If you've rung bells before, well you know how fun it is, and we would love to have you back! If you've never rung bells before, don't sweat it! Please come and have a good time anyway. We'll learn some technique to ringing hand bells, as well as play some fun music. I'm hoping to perform in worship in June. Even if you don't read music, please come and play. It's going to be a great time!!!

Youth sponsored garage sale! May 17th, 2008 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

If you would like to donate items to the garage sale, please do so before May14th. We appreciate help with pricing items, but it's not necessary to do that before hand. Please stop by on the 17th for some food, as well as a room full of treasures! Proceeds from the garage sale will go to the mission trip this summer to the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. For more details on our trip, go to Youthworks.

Junior High Retreat to Luther Park... May 31 - June 1
