Wednesday Adult Learning Community

The Adult Education Ministry Team is offering a unique opportunity during the season of Epiphany. On Wednesday evenings, following the Simple Suppers, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. there will be a Bible study based on a video series titled MissionShift: Reaching the World Next Door.
The Bible study will be offered from Wednesday, January 7, through February 11. The MissionShift video series discusses the changing world around us and the need for the Church of Christ to respond. The series focuses on the challenge new international immigrants pose to the Twin Cities and Minnesota churches. Reverend Roland Wells is the founder and director of the School of Urban Ministry and Executive producer of the MissionShift video series. The School of Urban Ministry is a program of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis. Each class period is a mix of a video presentation, a reflection on the biblical text, and participant discussion.
Karen Steenson and Kristin Tranby previewed the materials and brought them back to House of Prayer for us to experience. The cost for materials is $5. Each participant will receive a copy of the curriculum, which contains study questions based on topics and a scripture passage. Simple Suppers will be provided before each class period. The cost for a Simple Supper is $3 for an individual and $10 for a family.
