Wednesday Evening Adult Education –

Lenten Experience = Study, Supper, & Worship

“A community in God called to learn, grow, and support”…our life together as disciples of Christ called “to the measure of the full nature of Christ.” – Eph. 4:12.

Our Lenten focus for 2012 will be the six marks of discipleship. The first mark is to pray daily. Just like the days of the early church, we are gathered by the Holy Spirit to worship God daily, which is the second mark of discipleship. Reading the Bible is the third mark of discipleship. While service is the fourth mark of a disciple. Being in relationships that nurture spiritual growth is thefifth mark. Living a generous life and learning what it means to give of time, talents, and resources is the sixth mark of a disciple.

Green Team!

“Bring Your Own Coffee Cup or Water Mug to Church” Initiative This will help save some styrofoam from going into the landfill and will also save our congregation money. What an easy way to leave your green footprint here at HoP. Don’t forget to bring your mug next Sunday (and for the following Sundays.)

Weekly GREEN Tip: Insulating the first 10-15 feet of hot water pipes coming from your hot water heater will save you money as the water in the pipe stays hot. This is a simple project that will generally cost less than $5.00 and pay itself back in a year.
