º We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 for Worship and Holy Communion.

º NEW! Alternative Worship Wednesdays ~ Join us for alternative worship on three Wednesdays in August (13, 20, 27) at 6:30 pm. An Alt Worship team has been meeting for the last two months to dream and vision what an alternative Sunday morning worship service would look like. Join us for these Wednesday events as we “test out” some new approaches to worship. We will meet in the Parish Hall and serve some goodies afterward. See you then!

º Register now for Faith Formation programs! Watch out for some exciting changes to youth and family programming coming this fall! We are completely re-­formatting Wednesday nights and we’re excited to have you be a part of it.
Wednesday nights will include Simple Suppers, all youth and adult education programming, and weekly mid-­week worship. Our programs have new names!
1st-­4th grade: Spark
5th-­6th grade: Ignite
7th-­8th grade: Jolt
9th-­12th grade: T.R.I.B.E.

Vacation Bible School Was a Wonderful Week!

Children from ages 3 through 5th grade had a week of fun while they learned about Jesus’ love for them.

Welcome to HOP’s New Financial Administrator

HOP is excited to welcome Jo Shoberg to the staff in the newly-created position of Financial Administrator. This position encompasses all the job responsibilities formerly held by the Bookkeeper and has expanded roles inShobergJo (3) the broader financial management of church resources and works closely with the Treasurers, Budget & Finance and Ministry Teams. Jo comes to HOP with 14+ years in accounting and finance from Room & Board, the Walker Art Center and most recently, her own business. Jo has been working in a temporary capacity at HOP since March. She plans to be in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please welcome Jo to HOP!

Register Now for HoP Pre-School!

House of Prayer Pre-School, a service to the community since 1966, is now registering children, ages 3-5, for fall classes. Classes begin September 9 and meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 – 11:30 am.

Blankets for Love

HoP women met frequently this summer to tie fleece blankets for Rising Cedar, a facility built to provide housing for 40 residents with serious and persistent mental illness. Our Prayer Shawl Ministry sponsored this outreach project to create a fleece blanket for each resident. The blankets were blessed and taken to Rising Cedar on July 13.

Bloomington – Richfield Grief Support Coalition

The summer series of meetings of the grief support group begins July 10 at Woodlake Lutheran Church in Richfield. Meetings are from 4:30-6:00 pm each Thursday. Topics and speakers for this session:
August 14 – “Letting Go” – Bob Bartlett
August 21 – “Stories Along the Way” – Lynn Dosch
August 28 – “Grief and Intimacy” – Bob Bartlett
